As an extension of its advisory work, Oasis Capital will occasionally make direct investments in small-cap companies that fit its criteria for portfolio investments. These criteria include a superior rate of return, the opportunity to play a strategic role in the growth of the company, and the ability to exit from the investment within three years. The investment typically takes the form of equity or equity-like securities and is less than $1 million per company.
Oasis Capital is in the process of raising a $100 million proprietary focusing its investments primarily in equity securities of technology companies in four areas: Communications, Software, Material Sciences and Biotechnology. Approximately 70% of the Fund’s committed capital is intended companies owned or managed by minority or women entrepreneurs.
